sucks to be home
Written by jlgaddis on March 21, 2005 – 2:14 am -Well, it’s official: It sucks to be home.
I arrived home from my vacation at about 10am this morning, the end of a great week.
For most of the last week, Lindsey and I have been in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, on Spring Break. Lindsey was on break from school and convinced me that I should take the week off (I work at her school). After some persuasion, I agreed. We (I) then settled on St. Pete Beach, Florida, since I’ve been to the area before, have family in that vicinity, etc. I booked us a place at the Sirata Beach Resort right on the beach.
We did all the usual stuff: shopping, dining, laying on the beach, getting drunk, screwing, etc. St. Patrick’s Day was especially fun — what I remember of it, anyways. There’s a bar at the Sirata where we ended up on St. Patrick’s Day (I needed a couple shots of Jager) and I think we were there until it closed (and, at our best guess, dropped about $200 there that night). We met a few people there that were pretty cool, though I can’t remember their names for shit. I remember leaving the bar but don’t really remember making it back to the room — which must’ve been when this picture was taken.
Friday afternoon we were laying on the beach when I called a friend of mine to rub it in that we were in Florida on the beach and she wasn’t (she likes to do that to me when she’s in Jamaica). Ironically enough, she called back a little bit later and said she was in Florida. She was actually in Clearwater Beach, not too far up the road. That evening, Lindsey and I ended up driving up to Clearwater to her hotel and went out and had dinner with Jessica and Britney. I wasn’t expecting to run into any good friends a thousand miles away from home, so that was pretty neat.
We got up Saturday and went and had breakfast with a few members of my family who live in the area, then headed off back to Indiana. My original plan was to drive as far as I felt like, then stop and spend the night somewhere. I ended up driving all the way back without stopping (except for gas and food, of course) and we got back to Bloomington at about 3.30am. I was going to go ahead home but Lindsey wanted me to stay, which I did. After some more good sex, we crashed out and I got up about 9am to come home.
Today would’ve been my grandparents 53rd anniversary, so we did the family thing for the better part of the day so I at least got to show off my vacation pictures (which will be in the photo galleries as soon as I get around to it) a bit.
Anyways, I’m home now, and am supposed to get up in less than four hours to go to work. I love my job, but I’m not looking forward to that at all.

[...] Looks like I’m going to Florida again and I can’t wait. I haven’t been since the last time Lindsey and I went on Spring Break, about 15 months ago. [...]
