giac certified windows security administrator course
Written by jlgaddis on July 9, 2005 – 7:41 am -I got my employer to spring for the GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator course that Indiana University is hosting in Indianapolis this October. It’s really unusual for my department to get any type of formal training due to budget issues, but they agreed to pay for this. Since I’m an employee of an educational institution, my registration fee is only $750 as opposed to the regular rate of $2895, but they still went for it.
The other “formal” certifications that I have are CompTIA’s Linux+ and Network+ certs. I know that this course is going to be waaaay more intense than those were (I didn’t study at all for either, and got scores of 875 and 846 out of 900, respectively).
For anyone who has taken the GCWN course, I’d be interested in hearing what the cert test is like (what’s covered, what’s not covered, etc.), as much as you can say, of course. I know that for some certs you must agree not to divulge specifics, so only whatever can be freely shared, please.
