I have a new goal in life.

I’m on vacation, as a lot of people are, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Today is day three of my vacation and, to be honest, I was pretty damn bored. I ended up sitting down in the living room, kicking on the SNES, and playing a game of Super Mario Brothers. I was only a few levels in when I, for some reason, thought back 15 years or so ago to when I got the highest possible score on SMB. If memory serves, it’s 9,999,950 points. Being a young kid, I was able to do that in one sitting. I probably couldn’t now.

I then set a new life goal for myself. I shall match the highest possible score on Super Mario Brothers. Fortunately, it’s an SNES and the game is actually Super Mario Brothers All-Stars, which includes all of ‘em. It also, fortunately for me, lets you save your game and come back to it later. With that in mind, I shall match the highest possible score in SMB.

As of now, I’m at an even 1,000,000 points.
