Windows Notepad with encryption

I recently came across an open source application called Steganos LockNote. This is a very small, lightweight application that can basically be thought of as Windows’ Notepad, but with encryption.

I will often fire up notepad.exe just to type a quick note to myself and save it on the desktop of my PC to serve as a reminder for whatever. With Steganos LockNote, however, I can have those files encrypted as well. Just enter your password and that’s it, pure 128-bit AES encryption, baby!

It’s only a 300KB download, so you could store it on a USB drive as well. Check it out!
