Instructions:

  • log in (console, telnet, SSH, etc.) to the CLI
  • type “edomtset” and hit enter
  • type “edomtset” and hit enter (yes, again)
  • the prompt will change from “#” to “$”
  • hit ? to see what you can do
  • type “exit” and hit enter when you’re done

Make sure you look at the last example (the 5400zl at the bottom)!

Hi Jeremy,

As you noted above this is indeed a special mode designed to be used by support engineers, or by customers that are under the direction of a support engineer. If you do go poking around without knowing what you’re doing, you could render the switch inoperable. Any resulting issues are then not eligible for coverage under the HP warranty or support contracts.
