Are you currently studying for the SolarWinds Certified Professional certification? If so, read on.

At the first Gestalt IT Tech Field Day event aimed specifically at networking, Josh Stephens, Joel Dolisy, and Brandon Shopp from SolarWinds gave us a great presentation on the Orion Network Performance Monitor (read my thoughts here) and gave all of the delegates a gift box filled with assorted goodies. Included in the box was a 100% voucher for the SolarWinds Certified Professional examination through Prometric. This is a $150 USD value.

While I’m interested in the certification program myself, the voucher I have expires on the first of November, less than a month away. There’s no chance I’ll be able to devote the necessary time to be adequately prepared by then, so I’m offering it up to someone who will be.

I’ve no idea how many people would be interested and I only have one voucher to give away, so I came up with a few requirements. I will make the ultimate decision on who receives the voucher, and here’s how I’ll weight my decision:

  • Are you active in the networking community (e.g. Twitter, blogging, etc.)?
  • Are you active on thwack, SolarWinds’ community site?
  • Can I be confident you’ll take — and, more importantly, pass — the exam by the deadline?

If you can answer “yes” to the first two questions, can convince me of the third, and are interested in receiving a free shot at the SolarWinds Certified Professional examination, shoot me an e-mail (jeremy at evilrouters dot net). Send me links to your pages/profiles on the relevant sites and convince me that you’ll pass the exam by November 1st.

I’ll pick a “winner” by the end of the week and get the voucher code sent out so that the exam can be scheduled. By participating, you give permission for me to share your name, links to your pages/profiles, and your “convince me” statement. In addition, you agree to send an update (which I can reproduce here on my website) post-exam letting us all know how you did.

I don’t think that’s too much to ask and, if you agree to the above, shoot me an e-mail and get “entered”!
